How Much Do I Need?

Use our handy tools to estimate how much mulch, soil, or stone you'll need to cover an area with a layer 2" thick.

If your project calls for wall stone or pavers, come on in and choose the style you like, then tell us the length and width (and height for walls) of what you want to create. We'll use our in-house product guides to help you purchase just the right amount for the job.

Mulch & Soil

Buy mulch and soil by the cubic yard (also known as a "bucket" or "scoop"). Just fill in the measurements of the area you want to cover below and hit Tab. The tool will tell you how many yards you'll need for a layer 2" thick:

Length (ft) Width (ft) Yards Needed

Rather buy by-the-bag?
Most mulch and soil comes in bags of either 2 cubic feet or 3 cubic feet. Based on the results above, the amount you need converts to:

2 cu.ft. bags 3 cu.ft. bags
